Mackenzie Roberts ’22

Hometown: Agency, IA

Major: History & Political Science

Mackenzie Roberts has just completed her bachelor’s degree at William Penn University, but her education will continue at Drake Law School in the fall. A Political Science and History double major from Agency, Iowa, Mackenzie has been awarded the prestigious Dean’s Scholarship at Drake. She credits her professors for guiding her path at WPU and encouraging her to discover a passion for history and social justice. “Dr. Brooke Sherrard especially has made an incredible impact on me as a student and as an individual. She shared with me her love of history and created a safe space for me to grow.”

Mackenzie had some interest in becoming an attorney as she entered WPU, but not a clearly defined plan. That indecision faded as she grew in her course work, and she now sees law school as the perfect combination of her interest in history and social justice. She looks forward to using her JD to speak for vulnerable communities.

“William Penn has fostered an environment that has allowed me to thrive. The small, yet diverse student population has exposed me to so many fascinating ideas through engagement both in and out of the classroom. I was never just a number at WPU and was constantly surrounded by people who wanted to see me be great and would do whatever they needed to make this happen.”

Congratulations Mackenzie on your next steps and pursuing your dreams!
