Sue Van Wyk

Office Manager & Student Advisor for the Nursing Division

Sue Van Wyk has been a long time member of the staff at William Penn University and began working for the Division of Nursing in July, 2020. Sue brings years of experience in office procedures, admissions processing, and working with students. Seeing students succeed at something they love is one of her passions.

Sue comes with a financial background in banking, has worked in the Mahaska County Assessor’s Office valuing property for taxation, in various law offices, and she was a teacher’s aid. Sue has been at William Penn University for 20 years in Advancement, Admissions, and is currently working in the Division of Nursing.

Sue is also a volunteer with the National Guard and won the first National Volunteer Award in 2014, along with several Governor and President’s Volunteer awards. She has served on several community boards and believes strongly on giving forward.

Sue has attended UNI studying education courses, Indian Hills Community College studying banking courses, and William Penn University studying the fine arts. In honor of her family, Sue designed a sculpture that represents all of the arts at WPU. It is located in front of the McGrew Fine Arts Building. She also co-teaches the Summer Leadership Institution, to encourage first generation students.

Sue is married to Marvin Wayne and they have two grown children that graduated from WPU, along with many more students who call her mom.
