Jared Pearce, Ph.D.

Professor of English

Serving William Penn University for over a decade, Dr. Jared Pearce believes the key to educating students is to stay alert. When working with individuals, he believes it comes down to two main questions: What do you want?  How will you get it? “I’ve never been at a university–as a student or faculty member–that values individuals as much as William Penn University values individuals,” Dr. Pearce said.  He enjoys sitting down with a student, considering graduate school options, forming a curriculum that will support the student’s application and success in that program, and then working with that student to complete the curriculum.

Dr. Pearce specializes in American Poetry, 19th Century British Literature, 20th Century British Literature, and Literary Theory.
