Jamie Nelson, M.A.E.

Instructor | Elementary Education / Special Education

Jamie Nelson joins William Penn University after 12 years of teaching in public education. Her background in education includes elementary special education, Reading Recovery, 2nd grade, and PreK-12 building leadership in literacy. Jamie is passionate about creating classrooms where students are free to think, question, explore, and inquire without reservation. She brings a passion for inclusive practices to higher education.

Jamie is excited to bring new ideas and pedagogy to the education department at William Penn. She is fortunate to have the opportunity to work alongside her colleagues in preparing highly qualified future educators. Jamie considers herself a life-long learner and would love to continue to pursue the following educational areas of interest: literacy, neurodiversity, and social justice and equity in education.
