Brant Bollman

Director of Theatre Arts

Artist, actor, and puppet-maker, Brant Bollman, is the Director of Theatre Arts at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He teaches Theatre, Creative Arts, and New Media classes- focusing on creative engagement. He directs plays and leads his students in the creation of giant lighted puppets for the town’s annual holiday spectacular, The Oskaloosa Lighted Christmas Parade.

He helms Uplifting Puppet Co., where he builds and performs giant puppets (that he calls ‘Uppets’) for parades, rallies and the stage. He aims to tap into the primordial myth-making role of the shaman summoning masked dancers above the campfire.

Professor Bollman’s ultimate goal is to bring people together and create culture through the theatre arts.
