Book Vault Gives Parent/Family Weekend Proceeds to William Penn University’s Wilcox Library

10/16/2026

Book Vault, an independent bookstore located in downtown Oskaloosa, has donated 10 percent of its proceeds from William Penn University’s (WPU) Parent/Family Weekend, September 18-19, to the university’s Wilcox Library.

Book Vault was one of 24 local businesses that offered discounts to visiting families through a coupon book created by WPU and the Mahaska Chamber & Development Group. The store chose to take that partnership a step further by turning the weekend’s sales into direct support for students.

“We at Book Vault are happy to have partnered with WPU for Parent/Family Weekend. We believe that fostering a love of reading is important for the health and well-being of all communities, including ours. We are pleased to be able to contribute a small gift to Wilcox Library that they may use to help inspire students and encourage lifelong learning. Keep reading!” said Kelsey Jacobs, co-owner of Book Vault.

“We are grateful to Book Vault for their generous donation to Wilcox Library. We also appreciate the parents and families who came out during Parent/Family Weekend at William Penn for supporting both the Statesmen family and our local community businesses.” said Angela Crist, Director of Wilcox Library.

The gift will support Wilcox Library’s resources for students.
