Description of Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Title: Organizational/Clerical/Creative Assistant
Department: Athletic Bands and Music
Location: William Penn University, Oskaloosa, Iowa
Reports To: Director of Athletic Bands and Music

Position Summary:
The Athletic Bands and Music Department at William Penn University is seeking a highly organized, creative, and self-motivated individual to support the operational and artistic needs of the program. This role combines clerical responsibilities with hands-on support for rehearsals, performances, and creative development, particularly in the areas of colorguard and marching band routines.

Key Responsibilities:
Organizational & Clerical Duties:

Maintain and organize music libraries, including filing and cataloging sheet music.
Track and manage equipment inventory (instruments, uniforms, props, etc.).
Assist with scheduling, communications, and documentation for rehearsals and performances.

Field & Rehearsal Support:

Set up and tear down rehearsal spaces and field equipment.
Assist with logistics for performances, including transportation and staging.

Creative Contributions:

Collaborate in the development of colorguard choreography and marching band routines.
Support visual and thematic design elements for performances.
Contribute ideas for enhancing audience engagement and performance quality.

Required Qualifications:

Qualifications:

Experience in music filing and inventory management.
Familiarity with marching band and colorguard operations.
Ability to assist in the creation of routines and choreography.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Punctual, dependable, and capable of working independently.
Creative mindset with a passion for the performing arts.

Preferred Skills:

Background in music education, performance, or related field.
Experience with drill writing software or visual design tools.
Ability to lift and move equipment as needed.

Work Schedule–Days & Times

Work Schedule & Compensation:

Part-time (no more than 10 hours/week) depending on department needs.
Some evening and weekend hours required for rehearsals and performances
