Guard Day

June 20 @ 8:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free

Guard Day at William Penn University is a special visit event open to all students in 8th through 12th grade who are interested in color guard. Whether you’re a beginner or have several seasons under your belt, this is a great opportunity to grow your skills and connect with others who share your passion. Participants will be split into two groups based on experience level. The advanced group will be led by Makayla Marks, a sophomore at William Penn University and current color guard instructor for Knoxville, while the novice and beginner group will be guided by Anna Schafer of Oskaloosa.

The event will begin at 8:00 AM at the McGrew Fine Arts Center, where students will check in and get settled. From there, everyone will move to the Penn Activity Center (PAC) to begin learning their routine. At noon, family and friends are invited to attend a final presentation where participants will perform what they’ve learned. All students are encouraged to dress comfortably, bring their own flag if they have one, and remember to bring water. Guard Day promises to be a fun and energizing experience for all who attend!
