Campus Safety Officer – Staff Position
JOB TITLE: Campus Safety Officer

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education |
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
- Associates degree in Law Enforcement or related – preferred.

Experience |
- Background in supervision of students or law enforcement.
- Prior Campus Safety Officer experience – preferred

Duties &
Responsibilities |
- Patrols campus to assure all University buildings and facilities are secure.
- Enforce University rules, policies and procedures.
- Practices courtesy, professionalism and respect with all parties.
- Monitors security cameras and records evidence of situations that arise.
- Prepares and maintains a shift log of activities, calls for service, completes Campus Incident Reports & enters into CAMS.
- Locks and unlocks campus facilities as needed.
- Enforces parking rules and regulations.
- Liaison with local law enforcement as needed.
- Maintains communication with cell phone or radio as needed.
- Identifies and reports malfunctions of campus facilities or equipment.
- Assists with quick fix repairs to avoid personal injury or property damage.
- Identifies hazards and respond appropriately that pose a threat to staff, faculty or students.
- Communicates with Director of Campus Safety and Director(s) of Student services as needed.
- Monitor traffic flow and violations on the campus. Assist and enforce as needed.
- Conducts necessary facility or room inspections as per policy guidelines.
- Perform responsibilities of a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and attend annual training.
- Document incidents on campus through procedure established by the Director of Campus Safety.
- Assist Residence Life upon request.
- All other duties as assigned by the Director of Campus Safety or Administration.
- MUST have a valid Iowa Driver’s license.
- Become certified in First Aid, CPR & AED.

EVALUATION: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with the policies established by the Board of Trustees of William Penn University.
