Distance Learning is an innovative program offered by William Penn University’s Education Division to reach non-traditional students. The program overcomes the barriers non-traditional students face in obtaining their teaching degrees and endorsements. It provides the tools and support to help students fulfill their dreams. Iowa Paraeducator Scholarship

Don’t forget to ask about our new Iowa Paraeducator Scholarship specifically for Distance Learning students from Iowa. Students that qualify will pay no more than $5,000 for tuition (fall and spring semester). The scholarship can also be renewed each year. Requirements include:

  • Enrolled full-time as a degree-seeking student in William Penn University’s Distance Learning for Elementary Education or PE/Health/Coaching
  • Provide proof of employment as a paraeducator
  • File FAFSA before July 1

Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education

Classes meet evenings and alternate Saturdays. Special education, reading, and ESL endorsements are available.

Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education (K-8)/ Physical Education (5-12) /Health (K-8)/ Health (5-12) / K-12 Athletic Coaching (K-12)

This degree has been available on campus and we are now excited to offer this degree through the Distance Learning Program.  BA classes meet evenings and alternate Saturdays.

Endorsements

English as a Second Language (K-12)

This 18 credit hour program is designed for teachers and administrators who want to add the ESL K-12 endorsement to a current Iowa educator’s license.

Reading (K-8)

This 27 credit hour program is an option for educators who would like to add the Reading (K-8) endorsement to a current Iowa educator’s license.

Reading (5-12)

This 25 credit hour program is an option for educators who would like to add the Reading (5-12) endorsement to a current Iowa educator’s license.

Strategist I (K-8)

This is a 26 credit hour program for teachers looking to add the Strategist I (K-8) endorsement to a current Iowa educator’s license

Strategist I (5-12)

This is a 26 credit hour program for teachers looking to add the Strategist I (5-12) endorsement to a current Iowa educator’s license.
