Position Title: Athletics Communications Graduate Assistant

Department: Athletics

Position Requirements and Preferences:

  • Experience:
    • Understanding of Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite software preferred
  • Abilities: 
    • Independent decision making and ability to exercise good judgment;
    • Strong written and oral communication skills;
    • Ability to work independently and as a team member to complete assigned tasks and meeting deadlines;
    • Organizational skills, time management, relationship building, and communication skills essential;
    • Willing to work long hours, including nights and weekends

Position Summary:

Responsibilities: 

  1. Writing game recaps, season previews, feature stories, general releases, etc.
  2. Updating social media accounts
  3. Graphic designing of a variety of items, such as infographics, posters, schedule cards, etc.
  4. Public-Address Announcing at home games
  5. Streaming of events (home and away), including play-by-play announcing, operating Production Truck software
  6. Producing and editing of various videos
  7. Updating the athletics website
  8. Photography at times
  9. Varied office work, including updating records/archives
  10. All other duties as assigned

 

Reports to: Assistant Athletic Director for Communications

Evaluation: Performance will be the responsibility of the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications.
