Position Requirements and Preferences: 

  • Must have a master’s degree (or higher) in English, rhetoric and composition, technical communication, or another related field.
  • Must have proven success teaching freshman and sophomore level writing courses with a focus on developmental writing.
  • Must have good classroom management skills and flexible office hours.
  • 4/4 load expected.

 

Position Summary:

The William Penn University Humanities Division invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty member in English beginning Fall 2024 to teach developmental writing classes and business and technical communications and/or rhetoric. Rank and tenure are dependent upon qualifications. William Penn University is a teaching institution–the candidate must be an innovative instructor who uses research-based pedagogical strategies. Candidates must be forward-thinking, student-centered, and work collaboratively and collegially. Expectations include effective advising, effective use of technology, student-learning assessment, service, and professional development. This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position.
