From a very young age, Audrey Uwimana knew she wanted to attend school in the United States. This was a bold dream for the a third-grade girl in Rwanda, but she never wavered in making this goal a reality. The opportunity was made available for Audrey to enroll as a student at William Penn University through a relationship that began in 2008 in which WPU partners with the Rwandan Ministry of Education to send students to the University.

Audrey has made the most of her educational opportunities at WPU. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Creative Fine Arts, with emphases in Music, Graphic Design, and Theatre. She is currently a Graduate Student in the Master of Business Leadership program, and is serving as General Manager of KWPU, The Ladder, William Penn University’s radio station housed in the Musco Technology Center.

“I am a curious human being”, say Audrey. She has jumped into the role at the radio station and is excited for the opportunity to expand her learning experiences. She enjoys meeting new people and asking questions of guests on her radio show Campus Talk. “I like that the radio station is here to share thoughts on a different platform.”

Future goals for Audrey include continuing her education with another graduate degree. She says of her time at William Penn University, “It has been fruitful, beneficial, and mind-opening.” Audrey has full confidence she is exactly where she is supposed to be right now.
