Dr. Andrew Stevens

Dr. Andrew Stevens received a BA in mathematics and applied computer science with a minor in physics from William Penn University in 2007, an MS in mathematics from Washington State University in 2009, and a PhD in electrical and computer engineering from Duke University in 2018 where he received the outstanding dissertation award. Prior to his current position at Walmart Global Technology, he was a Research Scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in the National Security Directorate (2009–2017), and at Sivananthan Laboratories 2018–2019), where he proposed and managed projects on computer vision, machine learning, and compressive sensing for the DOE, DOD, and NASA. This worked culminated in several patents for electron microscopes. At Walmart, Dr. Stevens is a Director of Data Science. His team builds solutions for operations and safety using computer vision, time-series forecasting, and anomaly detection.

Dr. Stevens is married to Dr. Yannan Sun who is a Data Scientist at Oncor, an electricity delivery company. They live in the Dallas-Ft Worth area with their two boys (10 and 7).
