About my knowledge of AI

I am a subject matter expert in certain use cases for generative AI, Ive spent a lot of time thinking and practicing how this technology can be used for software engineers.  I have given several talks about the subject, to engineers, students, and business leaders. Part of the lecture I have given on AI, is considering the ethical implications of AI, and how it will ‘augment, disrupt, or replace’ certain types of work.  How to reason about the variety of risks that might arise, and how to lean in beyond fear, uncertainty, and doubt, and embrace the possibilities.  I have used ChatGPT extensively for my personal and professional work, and see how it can be integrated and augment many fields, roles, and responsibilities.

I am also on a working group within HPE assessing the recent Executive Order on Safe & Reliable AI, and how it specifically impacts HPE’s business.

A bit more on my background for your insight, (my linkedin is slightly out of date), after leaving Penn and getting my MSSE, I basically worked from individual contributor to lead, to principal (or staff) engineer.  I recently transitioned onto the people management track, but am still quite technical.  I also spent some time at the university as an adjunct, teaching intro CS, as well as capstone software architecture graduate courses.
