JOB TITLE: Web Developer
JOB SUMMARY: William Penn University (WPU) is dedicated to cultivating a dynamic learning environment for its community members. The Web Developer plays a pivotal role in fostering this community by demonstrating leadership, utilizing diverse technologies, and embodying the Quaker virtues of simplicity, peace-making, integrity, community, and equality. Specifically, the Web Developer will offer comprehensive website support and application integration services to the university’s business, academic, and administrative units.
DEPARTMENT: Information Services
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Associate degree required; Bachelor degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2+ years in application or web development/integration.
Technical Proficiencies:

- Proficient in languages C#, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, PHP, CSS, etc.
- Proficient in frameworks ASP.NET and Bootstrap.
- Skilled in using tools like Visual Studio, Visual Code, Microsoft SQL Server, etc.
- Familiarity with Content Management Systems (CMS) including WordPress.
- Basic SQL and Python skills required.

- Experience with classroom and instructional hardware and software, particularly in a higher education environment.
- Proficient in business English, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team to meet goals and deadlines.
- Excellent customer service skills both in-person and via phone.
REPORTS TO: Directors of Information Technology Services
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with user departments to analyze needs, integrate software solutions, and configure applications to meet system requirements.
- Evaluate business information processing needs and propose suitable solutions.
- Participate in projects to develop or integrate IT solutions aligned with stakeholder requirements.
- Develop scripts and programming for system integration purposes.
- Conduct thorough testing, including user testing, to ensure seamless system implementation.
- Collaborate with Analysts, ITS Specialists, and external vendors supporting application development and integration.
- Utilize and enforce standardized procedures and documentation to ensure the long-term operational efficiency of university systems.
- Provide training to user department personnel for effective utilization of university systems.
- Embrace and promote a culture of Leadership and Technology aligned with Quaker principles.
- Represent the university positively among students, staff, prospective students, and the community.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a positive attitude in interactions with students, personnel, and the community.
- Interpret and implement departmental and/or college policies and procedures.
- Foster a harmonious work environment.
- Contribute to student learning through job performance.
- Occasional travel may be required for this position.
- Occasional weekend and evening work may be necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
