Matt Wagner, M.S.
Director of the Digital Communication Program, Assistant Teaching Professor of Communications

Specializing primarily in video production, Professor Matt Wagner has a work background in corporate and training/educational video as well as multimedia and web design. His skills have enabled him to establish partnerships with local media organizations and to direct the Communication Research Institute of William Penn University. His most rewarding moments as an instructor are when he is able to witness the moment when a student “gets it”. “By that, I don’t mean the student necessarily gets a good grade on a quiz, or knows the answer to a question asked in class,” said Professor Wagner. “I mean the moment when I student realizes that, ‘not only can I do this, but I’m actually pretty good at it.’” He also believes that the students from different walks of life help the overall education at William Penn University. “The diversity inherent in the student body of William Penn University allows students to explore a variety of perspectives and gain a greater world view,” Professor Wagner said. “That is a great benefit for a small liberal arts college in Iowa.”
