Jessica Willett, M.B.A.

Instructor of Communications

Instructor of Communications Jessica Willett believes a more diverse student body enriches learning in the public relations and journalism courses that she teaches. “As journalists, we write for everyone and must keep cultural sensitivity in mind. A diverse student body allows us to better learn, and appreciate, the differences that make us all great,” Jessica says. When working individually with students, she uses classroom examples that will interest students based on what she has learned about them. “If I can tap into a passion of a student and show them how to apply it to their studies, they will experience the joy that can come from academics and how their current, and future, work can be fulfilling,” she says. Her teaching philosophy is to engage students and earn their attention, and she believes that each student is a unique individual with different ways of learning. “For this reason, I incorporate several methods in my instruction,” she says.
