Jeff Caplan

Adjunct Professor of Photography | Video Producer

Jeff Caplan joined William Penn University in the fall of 2019. Jeff is a fine art photographer and visual artist who has been creating compelling images with his cameras for over 30 years. Originally from Lowell, Massachusetts, Jeff developed his photographic skill set during the nineteen nineties by delving in to advanced black & white printing techniques, and alternative photographic processes while studying at The Art Institute of Boston. He continues to advance his knowledge of photography and video production in the digital age. Jeff graduated with a Bachelors in Fine Arts from Lesley University, Boston, Massachusetts in 2021.

Jeff also has an extensive background in graphic design and the printing industry. With his prior experience as Senior Designer at a small design firm in Salem, Massachusetts, Jeff has worked on numerous design projects, from logos and brochures to package design and vehicle wraps.

Maintaining an interactive classroom environment for students is an important part of Jeff’s teaching philosophy. He believes that “hands on” learning from a professional in their field can be some of the most valuable interactions available. Engaging students in class discussions, critique and workshops are what he enjoys the most about teaching. Jeff’s goal is to inspire students, foster creativity, and help them learn the necessary skills to become working creative professionals in a field of their choosing.
