Dr. Kellie Jones, DNP, MSN, RN
Nursing Instructor

Dr. Kellie Jones has over 30 years of nursing experience. Her background includes working in the intensive care unit, the emergency department, the medical-surgical units, and the cardiopulmonary unit. Dr. Jones has held several leadership roles and has worked with emergency preparedness partners in the community. Dr. Jones has her Maters degree in Nursing Education and a Doctorate from Purdue University in Nursing Practice. She has been teaching in higher education for the past four years. Dr. Jones holds the honor of being a DAISY-AWARD recipient, and is a 100 Great Iowa Nurses honoree. Dr. Jones has been married for 30 years and has two children. She is from Michigan, but has lived in Iowa for about 13 years. Dr. Jones likes to read, garden, and camp in her spare time. Dr. Jones was hired as an adjunct nursing faculty in July of 2019 and became fill-time in January of 2021.
