Position Title: Graduate Assistant for the Admissions office

Department: Admissions

Position Requirements and Preferences:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required

Experience: Background in Administration

Abilities:

  • Independent decision making and ability to exercise good judgment
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member to complete assigned tasks and meeting deadlines
  • Organizational skills, time management, relationship building, and communication skills essential;

Responsibilities:

A. Work a minimum of 30 hours per week.

B. Work with admissions counselors, professors, coaches/sponsors to make prospective students’ campus visits positive.

C. Creating a safe, clean and enjoyable environment for all students and visitors.

D. Coordinate campus visit days for prospective freshmen and transfer students

E. Coordinate campus visit days for prospective students in certain academic programs or extracurricular activities (i.e. Nursing Day or Football Recruitment Day)

F. Create and update student records in database

G. Create, update and process daily mailings to prospective students with corresponding promotional materials

H. Monitor inventory of promotional materials; make recommendations for reordering

I. Represents the University in a positive manner with prospective, current, and former students, employees, and the community.

J. Demonstrates enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a positive attitude in meeting and dealing effectively and courteously with students, other personnel, and all members of the community.

K. Works harmoniously with others.

L. Arrange on-campus accommodations for prospective students

M. Be a positive role model for students.

N. Assist with inventory and assessment of equipment.

O. Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.

P. All Other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Director of Admissions/Assistant Director of Admissions

Start Date: June 1, 2021

Full-Time/Part-time/Temp: Minimum of 2 years, Graduate Assistant position
