Position Title: Director of Athletic Bands
Department: Enrollment
Position Requirements and Preferences:
A. Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
B. Experience: Current experience with successful marching band program expected.
C. Abilities:
Responsibilities:
A. Recruitment of new students via high school visits, phone calls, one-one visits with students and parents, written correspondence and visibility at local and regional competitions.
B. Plan and develop marching band program to include field show, parade marching, pep band, color guard and drumline.
C. Supervise marching band support staff.
D. Administer athletic band budget.
E. Maintain inventory of band uniforms, instruments and equipment
F. Work closely with Admissions, Department of Music and Athletic Director.
G. Additional teaching responsibilities may be assigned.
H. Represents the University in a positive manner with prospective, current, and former students, employees, and the community.
I. Demonstrates enthusiasm, self-motivation, and a positive attitude in meeting and dealing effectively and courteously with students, other personnel, and all members of the community.
J. Interprets departmental and/or college policies and procedures.
K. Works harmoniously with others.
L. Performs in a manner which benefits student learning.
M. This position may require travel.
N. This position may require occasional weekend and evening hours.
O. Other duties as assigned.
