Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with day to day office work from filing, data-entry, answering the phone, stuffing mail and various other office work along with giving potential students tours.

The Admissions Office:

The Admissions Office at William Penn University is one of many offices on campus. The rules and regulations of each office are independent of one another and are subject to change. This office has the authority to hire, reprimand and discontinue the use of students in the work study program at will.


Work study students are under direct supervision of the work study supervisors.

Absentee and Late Policy:

Students are required to report promptly and regularly for work as scheduled. They must arrive for duty in sufficient time to be at the assigned job and ready to work at the scheduled hour.
Students are responsible for knowing their own check-in time.

If a student is unable to be on duty as scheduled, the supervisor must be notified in advance of the reporting time so that necessary arrangements can be made. Asking other work study personnel to give messages to the Admissions Office supervisor is not acceptable and will be counted as an unexcused absence.

Three unexcused absences during a semester will result in automatic dismissal by the supervisor or the coordinator of student employment.

Students cannot work after they have completed their semester award unless special arrangements are made
with the Director of Admissions or the Vice President for Enrollment Management. Students may not record time when traveling to or from an event. Students cannot work when they are to be in class. Students may not work more than 20 hours per week.

Office Policy:

Students are expected to wear attire suitable for a professional workplace and must present
a professional presence at all times. Any variations from this dress must be approved by supervisor.

Students must maintain a 2.75 cumulative GPA.

Students are to use office equipment only if they have been trained to do so by their supervisor. Equipment that has to be repaired because of inappropriate use could be the financial responsibility
of the worker.

Students are responsible for clocking in and out. Any student caught tampering with the
time card machine or the card itself, will result in immediate dismissal.

Students may at times find themselves working with files and student information. All work study personnel must understand that this information is confidential and not to be shared with any person outside of the admissions office. Any violation could result in immediate dismissal.

Students may from time to time be asked to give campus tours after they have completed the required training.

Personal devices should be left in your backpack or switched off during your working hours. Use of personal phones will only be tolerated in emergencies.

Issues relating to performance, professionalism, punctuality, etc. will be addressed first with a verbal warning then with a written warning. Another offense will cause automatic termination.
