William Penn University is pleased to introduce the new Student Government Association for the 2008 – 2009 academic year.
Name: Nik Rule
Position: President
Year in School for 08 - 09: Senior
Hometown: Idaho Falls, Idaho
Major: US Government – Pre-Law
Biography: Born and raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho, Rule graduated from Skyline High School. He recognizes his family as playing the most important role in shaping who he is today. He played two years of collegiate soccer for William Penn and then switched to become a member the men’s golf team. Rule served as the Head Resident Assistant at Eltse Hall for two years, was a co-founder for the William Penn College Republicans chapter, and is involved in the Presidents Diplomats program. During his sophomore year Rule served as the SGA Administrative Officer and was Vice President during his junior year. After Rule graduates from Penn he plans to attend law school in either Idaho or Iowa.
“I look forward to serving the William Penn community and doing what I can to help make each student’s time at William Penn an enjoyable one,” Rule said.
Name: Janna Carson
Position: Vice President

Hometown: Idaho Falls, Idaho
Major: Communications - Public Relations
Bio: Carson is the daughter of Jim and Cindy Carson. Her older sister, Jodi, graduated from Penn in 2006. Carson graduated from Bonneville High School in 2006 where she served as Student Body President. At Penn she played two years of collegiate soccer and was the 2007-2008 SGA Public Relations Officer. She is currently the head Resident Assistant in Lewis Hall, as well as the Quaker yearbook editor. Carson also enjoys giving tours to prospective students as a Student Ambassador for William Penn.
Name: Semsa Hasic
Position: Treasurer
Year in School for 08 - 09: Junior
Hometown: Bosnia/Richmond, Virginia
Major: Business Management, Sociology
Bio: Hasic moved to the United States at the age of 16. She attended Hermitage High School in Richmond, Virginia, and graduated in 2005. In high school she played volleyball for two years and was also a first graduating compass class. She enrolled at William Penn University in the fall of 2006. Hasic played volleyball in 2006 and 2007. Her activities at William Penn include Phi Beta Lambda (business club) in which she is now serving as president. In 2007, she was elected as treasurer in Student Government Association and looks forward to serving her second term. Hasic has also been involved in the President's Diplomats program. After graduating Hasic plans to stay in Des Moines, Iowa, and hopefully work for a financial institution.
“I am looking forward to serving William Penn and getting involved with the community,” Hasic said.
Name: Kristen Dolen
Position: Student Life Director
Year in School for 08 - 09: Junior
Hometown: Independence, Missouri
Major: Secondary Education with endorsements in English, Language Arts, Journalism and Coaching
Bio: Dolen is very involved on campus. She plays goalkeeper for the soccer team, serves as a Resident Assistant, is a member of InterVarsity, a staff member for the campus literary magazine Penn N' Ink, and a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. This will be her first year in SGA. She is the youngest of four kids with two brothers and one sister. Dolen plans on graduating in spring of 2010 and would like to stay in Oskaloosa and teach high school English and coach tennis, basketball or soccer.
Name: Ashley Hasler
Position: Public Relations Officer

Hometown: Ogden, Utah
Major: Double majoring in History/Government and Sociology/Criminology
Bio: Originally from Utah, Hassler came to William Penn to play soccer. Following graduation from William Penn, she plans on attending law school somewhere on the West Coast in the fall of 2010.
Name: Eric Nesbitt
Position: Development Officer
Hometown: Bismarck, Illinois
Year in school for 08 - 09: Junior
Major: Accounting
Bio: Nesbitt is involved in men's basketball, business club, College Republicans and Residence Hall Association. He is currently unsure of his plans after graduation from college.
Name: Chaz Olson
Position: Administrative Officer
Year in School for 08 - 09: Senior
Hometown: Jewell, Iowa
Major: Sports Administration with minors in Strength and Conditioning and Business Management
Bio: Olson graduated form South Hamilton High School in 2005 and has been a safety for the Statesmen football team. He serves as a Resident Assistant at Watson Hall and is involved in the business club, Alpha Chi honor society, PASS activities, and intramurals. Additionally, Olson has new job helping people with disabilities increase their independence and inclusion back into the community. Olson describes himself as a huge fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and the Texas Rangers and likes to see the Iowa State Cyclones win.
