The Jazz ensemble will kick off the concert with the classic rock number “Get It On” composed by Bill Chase, followed by the exciting Stan Kenton chart, “Malaga." Music in the swing style will include “Senorita Blues”, and “Doin’ Basie’s Thing." Larry Caplinger, freshman trumpet player from Meadville, Pennsylvania, will be featured in the Maynard Ferguson ballad, “Dance to Your Heart."
April will find a full slate of performances the groups. The ensembles are preparing to travel to area high schools. They will perform at North Mahaska High School and Cardinal of Eldon High school to those schools’ music students. The William Penn Singers are looking forward to performing at College Avenue Friends Church along side of the Friends University choir of Wichita, Kansas, directed by former Penn professor, Rolaine Green Hetherington.
The groups are directed by Scott Cressley and Anita Meinert.  A reception will follow in the art room.
