Alpha Lambda Delta honor society to host fourth annual Basketball Challenge

Freshman honor society Alpha Lambda Delta will host its fourth annual Basketball Challenge March 27 in the William Penn Gymnasium at 7:00 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
Previously coached by President Richard Sours and Academic Dean Fred Allen, the teams, consisting of William Penn faculty and staff members, will have new leadership this year. Chad Rodgers, director of the PAC and student activities will be coaching the Blue Team; and Greg Hafner, athletic director and assistant football coach will instruct the Gold Team.
While admission to the game is free, members of the honor society will be selling raffle tickets for prizes with the grand prize being a refurnished laptop. Raffle tickets are three for $5.00 or $2.00 per ticket. Funds raised from the raffle tickets will help with expenses for leadership programs.
“The Alpha Lambda Delta basketball game is a great way to see faculty and staff out of their offices and onto the court.  Come, watch, and cheer for the team of your choice,” said Dr. Ann Fields, advisor to the honor society and assistant professor in Business Administration Division and director of learning and retention.
The Gold Team won the challenge the first two years and the Blue Team pulled off their first victory in the 2007 challenge.
