Music department to present university/community concert band performance November 24
The music department of William Penn University will present a concert featuring the university/community concert band on Monday, November 24, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will take place in the Chief Mahaska Room of Dana M. Atkins Memorial Union and is free and open to the public.
William Penn’s Wind Ensemble is making its return to campus after several years of absence. The 25 member group is composed of Penn students, members of the Oskaloosa Municipal Band and high school students from Oskaloosa and North Mahaska High Schools.
The performance will include works from wind band including Robert Russell Bennett’s “Suite of Old American Dances,” Sousa’s “Black Horse Troop,” and “Fanfare and Toccata” by Ed Huckeby. Lighter selections will include “Selections from Annie” and “Colonial Rhapsody.”
