Statesmen football looking for piece of conference title Saturday

Statesmen fans, get fired up! The football team is on a mission to achieve a feat that hasn’t been done in William Penn football history in 32 years! Statesmen football will host the Quincy Hawks of Illinois on Senior Day, Saturday, November 15, at 1:00 p.m. at Community Stadium. If the Statesmen win the game they will, at the least, share the conference title. Depending on the outcome of the St. Ambrose game on Saturday, the Statesmen could even walk away with the outright title should they beat the Hawks and St. Ambrose lose to Trinity International. This would be the first time the university has had a piece of the conference title in 32 years.
Admission to the game is free for all students in Mahaska County in grades kindergarten through twelfth. Free admission tickets will be distributed to all elementary schools, and middle school and high school students may receive free admission by showing their school identification card.
The Statesmen, currently 7–3, are on a four-game winning streak – another accomplishment that hasn’t been done by the team since 1976. Bring a blanket to keep warm and come out to Community Stadium Saturday afternoon – it’s sure to be an exciting game!
