Athletic Hall of Fame

One part of the Homecoming 2006 festivities will be the dedication of a Hall of Fame room at the entrance of the Penn gymnasium. With construction of the new activity center and upgrading of the Penn gym, this will be a place of honor that also provides high visibility to fans and alumni.

The new area will be located on the wall between the gymnasium* and the outside doors. A walnut plaque for each member of the Hall of Fame, with an etching of the athlete's likeness and accomplishments, will be mounted on the wall. Fundraising efforts have begun, and donations have already been received from Sigma Phi Sigma, the Penn Booster Club, the Alumni Association, and some of the Hall of Fame members.

*The Penn gymnasium will continue to be the center of varsity basketball and volleyball even after the new activity center is completed. New bleachers have been installed this fall, rounding out improvements that include new flooring, new lights, and a state of the art scoreboard system.
