YEARS: 1966-1970 Four time quarterback letterman. Set school passing records for game, season, career in yardage and touchdowns. Inducted into Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio for career in semi-professional football.
BECKY INMAN Inducted 1992
YEARS: 1984-1987 All-American in basketball, all-conference and all-regional in volleyball. Earned eight letters. Finished in top five in every offensive category. Conference MVP in volleyball.
RICK STOECKER Inducted 1992
YEARS: 1966-1970 Four time four Iowa Conference high hurdle champion. Four time football letterman. Excelled as a wide receiver.
BRUCE MATHEW Inducted 1992
YEARS: 1930-1956 As sports editor of Oskaloosa Herald he covered William Penn athletics for 26-years plus. His supportive editorial style aided a down program and was instrumental in the school’s athletic revival.
ROBERT VAN CLEAVE Inducted 1993
YEARS: 1948-1952 Four sport standout who earned 14 letters. Among career leaders in football, basketball and baseball statistical records despite playing a reduced schedule. Known as a Power hitting catcher.
TAYLOR HAYES Inducted 1993
YEARS: 1959-1974 Coached Penn basketball to the most successful winning percentage in history (205-184)after taking over a program with just eight winning season in 54-years. Won Iowa Conference titles in 1971 and 1974.
MIKE MITCHELL Inducted 1993
YEARS: 1973-1976 Defensive linebacker was Iowa Conference MVP in 1976. Had 85 solo tackles his senior year. Three time all-conference, twice all-district, once All-American. Signed with the NFL Washington Redskins.
JERRY KUTZLER Inducted 1993
YEARS: 1985-1987 Pitched and batted William Penn to consecutive conference championships in 1986 and 1987. Set school record in wins by a pitcher, home runs and RBIs. Signed by Chicago White Sox and pitched in the American League.
JOHN WATLAND Inducted 1993
YEARS: 1925-1929 Outstanding running back who earned four letters and ranks among leaders in touchdowns scored in a game and career. Named captain of 1928 team, then the highest honor accorded a player.
ROBERT SPENCER Inducted 1994
YEARS: 1973-1981 Developed nationally recognized women’s basketball program. Won national title in 1981. Record at Penn was 240-43. Coached 19 All-Americans.
LORI BUSCH Inducted 1994
YEARS: 1978-1982 All-American basketball player. Played on 1981 national championship team. Four time letter winner she scored 1,516 points and set records for teals and assists.
TY LEWIS Inducted 1994
YEARS: 1968-1971 Twice all-conference and an all-regional slugging first baseman, he ended his career with a .301 batting average and is among career leaders in all offensive categories.
JEFF PARSONS Inducted 1994
YEARS:1972-1976 Record setting quarterback he was All-conference twice. Conference MVP in 1976. Guided Statesmen twice to post season games. Passing accuracy was his strength. Also lettered in baseball.
MAX ANDERSON Inducted 1994
YEARS: 1948-1952 Lettered 13 times in football, basketball, track and baseball. Slashing back in football who also was a defensive safety, outside shooter in basketball, sprinter in track. After college won 624 games as high school girls’ basketball coach.
GAYLE PALMER Inducted 1995
YEARS: 1955-1959 Lettered four times in football, basketball and baseball. Multi-talented in football he played quarterback, defensive back and punted. Scored 1,000 points in basketball and is among statistical leaders in all three sports.
BERRY JOHNSON Inducted 1995
YEARS:1955-56; 1957-60 Quarterback team of 1958 to first winning season in 28-years. Three year record as 18-10. Listed among statistical leaders in passing, TD runs and career scoring. Also lettered in basketball and track.
DESIREE ORWIG Inducted 1995
YEARS: 1984-1988 Compete in NCAA National meet three times, was Iowa Conference track MVP twice. Won 400 meters three straight years, won 100 meter hurdles twice and placed in 400 meters, long jump and high jump. Twice named All-American.
JOE GEPHARDT Inducted 1995
YEARS: 1971-1975 All-Conference and all-district twice in basketball. Conference medalist and MVP in golf. Scored 1,434 career basketball points and played on 1973-73 conference champions, as medalist on conference golf champions.

YEARS: 1930-1934 Sprinter on 1930 unbeaten football team. Listed in top 25 in seven offensive categories. Four time letterman in football and track.

YEARS:1967-1971 Hard hitting catcher who set school records for most home runs and RBIs (season) and home runs and RBIs (career).
EMORY STEWART Inducted 1996
YEARS: 1969-1973 Four time letterman in both football and baseball. Kicked 87 extra points and 15 field goals for career point total of 132. Power hitter in baseball.
LORI MYERS Inducted 1996
YEARS:1978-1982 Lettered four times in both volleyball and basketball. Named basketball All-American in 1982. Starter on national championship team. Scored 1,583 career points.
JIM PORTESE Inducted 1996
YEARS: 1978-1982 Three time All-Conference center and long snap center on punts and field goals, Portese played for the professional Arizona Wranglers in the USFL.
RON WAGNER Inducted 1996
YEARS: 1973-1977 Twice all-conference in basketball. Scored 1132 career points. Led conference in field goal percentage as a sophomore. Twice team MVP and was All-district.
CHARLES LERETTE Inducted 1997
YEARS: 1940-43; 46-47 Four time letterman in football, basketball and baseball. Returned for senior year after WWII and was named captain of football and basketball teams.
LARRY MILLEDGE Inducted 1997
YEARS: 1956-1958; 59-60 Three time letterman in both basketball and baseball. Hard hitting catcher he played professional baseball. Solid rebounder he is listed in career statistic leaders in both sports.
ANDY DAVIDSON Inducted 1997
YEARS:1975-1979 NCAA Division III wrestling All-American. Won seven tournament championships and competed in national meet. Led team in pins twice and set record for fastest pin. Named to Iowa High School Athletic Association Hall of Fame.
MIKE RIORDAN Inducted 1997
YEARS:1982-1985 Tackle on offense an defense set conference record for longest field goal kicked (58-yards). Kicked 11 career field goals. As Penn strength coach he won 17 state power lifting titles, nine regional titles, and a world championship. Set national record in squat lift and world record in dead lift.

YEARS: 1976-1980 Two time All-American wrestler who was twice conference champion, qualified for national four times, won 11 tournament titles. Finished with career record of 78-27.
