Each year, the Alumni Association of William Penn University presents the following three awards at the Alumni Banquet of Homecoming weekend:

      Distinguished Career Award

Among the foundational concepts that underlie the mission of William Penn University is leadership. The individual honored with the Distinguished Career Award is one who has established a reputation as a leader in his or her chosen career field. Honorees are alumni whose success inspires current students to use their own Penn experience to become leaders.

      Distinguished Service Award

The Distinguished Service Award is bestowed upon an individual whose life of service has been exemplary. This honor extends beyond the circle of Penn alumni to those who embody the William Penn commitment to community and humanitarian service.

      The Torch Award

The Torch Award was initiated during the 1972 Parent's Weekend as a way to acknowledge and honor alumni and non-alumni parents who have shown exceptional commitment to William Penn. The award is given to an alumni family of at least two generations; or to non-alumni parents, all of whose children have attended Penn. Consideration is also given to the interest and loyalty shown by the recipient family in the programs and ideals of the university.
