Margaret Stoltzfus has served on Penn's board of trustees since 1996, but her service reaches far beyond the borders of Penn's campus. She has been actively involved with many civic organizations and initiatives in addition to committee and leadership roles with College Avenue Friends, Iowa Yearly Meeting and United Society of Friends Women International.
Torch Award Charles and Ann Lee Nichols
Ann Lee Norman Nichols attended William Penn, where her grandfather's uncle, Israel Chew Green, was a founder and chair of the original board of trustees. Charles and Ann Lee's oldest son, Randall, graduated from Penn in 1976, worked in the development office from 1982-1987, and served on the board of trustees from 2000-2006. Their son Eric attended Penn for two years and is now serving on the board of truestees. Heath Nichols, a grandson, is currently a junior at Penn. The connection to Penn also goes generations before, as Ann Lee and her sister, Barbara Norman Morgan, were the third generation to attend Penn when they were students. Others included aunts and uncles, including members of the Green family for whom the Green Family Lounge in Lewis Hall is named.
