Distinguished Career
Ed Thomas '72
Honors bestowed upon Thomas include NFL High School Coach of the Year in 2005; State Class 1A Coach of the Year 1993, 2001; president Iowa Football Coaches Association 1991; and IFCA Hall of Fame 1990. His teams have compiled a record of 263-81 with 16 playoff experiences over 34 years.

Donna (Parsons) Williams '49
William Penn Board of Trustees member for 15 years. Retired music teacher, and the only female among 17 directors whose bands were selected to perform for President Herbert Hoover at the dedication of Hoover Park in 1954.

Ercil and Maxine (Hoover) Beane
Ercil Beane attended William Penn in 1933-34 before moving on to chiropractic college. Their four sons (David, Daniel, Joel and Evan) and one daughter (Marian '65) attended William Penn. Ercil's sister (Frances Beane Watland), brother (Ernest Beane) and brother-in-law (John Watland), as well as his mother Edna (Ferguson) Beane also attended Penn, making the tradition three generations long.
