KIGC-FM Radio
William Penn has its own radio station that broadcasts students' radio shows throughout the Oskaloosa community and surrounding rural area. KIGC-FM is a student-run station licensed by the Federal Communications Commission. Although advised by a faculty member, that adviser does not tell the students the kind of music they must air. Student DJs have all kinds of interesting musical offerings on KIGC--from rap to country to oldies. And you don't need any prior experience to have a show on KIGC. We will train you. In addition, as is the case with all three of our campus media, students are eligible for work-study money, a way to get paid and play your favorites on the air. KIGC also offers leadership opportunities. It's great to put something like "managed a radio station" on your resume when you look for that first job.Stop by the radio station in the student union. It's a place to have fun and learn at the same time.
