What is Chautauqua?
Chautauqua, WPU's Humanities lecture series, was created last year by the Humanities division. Though it principally showcases Penn's faculty, it also features outside speakers. Chautauqua's purpose is to bring culture and learning of all kinds to the university and the Oskaloosa community. It is free and open to the public. There is usually one lecture per month (with the exception of August and December), always on a Thursday either at 5:30 or 7:00 pm. We have two regular venues: Wilcox Library (on campus), or Smokey Row (a local coffee house).
