Distance Learning and ESL Programs

Applications are currently being accepted for the following programs:

Associate of Arts in Leadership Studies

2 1/2 year program designed for para-educators and other pre-service teacher candidates to complete the first half of a career ladder teaching degree program, culminating in an AA degree.

Bachelor of Arts in Elementary or Secondary Education

2 1/2 year program designed as the second step of the career ladder program for paraprofessionals and other pre-service teacher candidates. This program is also a great fit for anyone with a B.A. in a field outside of education seeking teaching licensure. Scholarships are available.

English as a Second Language Endorsement

This 18 credit hour ICN program is designed for teachers and administrators who want to add the ESL K-12 endorsement to a current Iowa educator's license.

Project POWER UP Cadre 2 Nominations

Nomination forms are now available for potential participants in Cadre 2 of Project POWER UP. To be eligible to nominate, you must be a member of POWER UP Cadre 1, an AEA ELL Consultant, or a member of the POWER UP advisory committee. Please complete the nomination form (linked below) for the administrator you wish to nominate, using a separate form for each administrator. Fax this form to Julie Gentz in the William Penn University Distance Education/ESL Office at (641.673.2126) no later than October 1, 2009. In addition, please mail a copy to: Julie Gentz, Distance Education/ESL Office, 201 Trueblood Avenue, Oskaloosa, IA 52257.
